“Yadoo” in Dhaka Film Festival, Bangladesh
“Yadoo”, a Kanoon feature film made by Mehdi Jafari and a joint production by Kanoon and Farabi Cinema Foundation, is competing in Dhaka 20th International Film Festival to obtain the award for the best children film.
According to Kanoon General Directorate for Public Relations and International Affairs, eighteen films have made way to the competition section of children and adolescents’ films in this round of Dhaka Festival. Out of this number of films, five films are from Iran, and thirteen films are from Taiwan, Spain, Russia, India, France, Finland, Estonia, Argentina and Egypt.
Yadoo is the story of the very first months of the imposed war. Many families migrate but Yadoo’s mother makes a different decision. She believes in staying and fighting. Every time she has a new excuse for her decision. Yadoo is trying to convince his mother to leave Aabadan but amongst this, he falls in love.
This film is Kanoon’s latest production which has won a crystal Simorgh from the section called “Seeking Simorgh” at 39th Fajr Film Festival for the best director, best film, best sound recording, the best filming, and honorary diploma for the best leading actress. Another success of this film is receiving the Tenth Phoenix Cinema Award.
