According to Kanoon General Directorate for Public Relations and International Affairs, the ending ceremony of 51st Roshd International Film Festival was held on Dec 17, 2021 at Felestin Cinema.

The jury for the animation section of 51st Roshd Festival included Mahin Javaherian, Kiarash Zandi, and Mehdi Khoramian. The Golden Statuette, the honorary diploma, and the cash award of the animation section was given to “Alternative” by Abdollah Alimorad for the proper use of domestic atmosphere and visual elements with national identity.

This fifteen-minute animation is Kanoon latest production. The technique used to produce the animation is one-frame puppet or stop motion filmed with digital method.

In the introduction of “Alternative” we read: In an old oil pressing when the camel gets ill, the oil-presser alters the camel with an engine. Since jealousy exists among animals and camel grudge is a known entity, the camel reacts to this alteration and the story if formed…

Based on the news, the Silver Statuette, honorary diploma and cash award of this festival was given to “The Fisherman” by François Balanant from France; an honorary diploma and cash award to “Rotation” by Hazhir As’adi, and “Red Fire” by Mona Abdollah Shahi both from Iran.

The 51st International Roshd Film Festival was held online from Dec 11 to 17, 2021.
